Remodels move fast and the electrician has to keep up. When one trade falls behind it holds up everyone else, and that’s not how we operate. Our team has run electrical on remodels across Dover, Portsmouth, and Rochester for over a decade. We coordinate directly with your contractor, navigate the quirks of local inspectors, and handle the unique permitting requirements that come with doing work in towns across the Seacoast.
Whether you are gutting a kitchen, finishing a basement, adding a bathroom, or building an addition, every remodel has its own electrical demands. New circuits, updated panels, recessed lighting, dedicated appliance circuits, and code compliance all have to come together at the right time. We have done it enough times to know where the problems show up before they do.
From the first rough-in to the final trim out, we handle the electrical start to finish so you can stay focused on the rest of the project. One call, one crew, no surprises.
Every remodel is different but the electrical scope tends to follow the same pattern. When walls are open your electrician needs to rough in new circuits, relocate existing wiring, and make sure everything meets current code before the drywall goes back up. That is the window where the work has to happen and there is no coming back after it closes.
Not every remodel requires opening walls though. Adding recessed lighting, upgrading outlets, installing dedicated appliance circuits, or updating a panel can often be done with minimal disruption to finished surfaces. Our team works through the scope with you upfront so you know exactly what to expect before anyone picks up a tool.
Most remodel electrical work in Dover, Portsmouth, and Rochester covers new outlet and circuit locations, dedicated circuits for appliances and equipment, recessed lighting layouts, panel capacity checks, and any code corrections that come up along the way. Older homes especially tend to reveal wiring that needs to be addressed before the project can move forward.
We walk through the scope with you and your contractor before work starts so there are no surprises mid-project. When the rough-in is done we coordinate the inspection and come back for the finish work once everything is closed up.
Most remodel electrical work in New Hampshire requires a permit, including new circuit installations, panel upgrades, and any work that changes the existing wiring layout. We handle the permit coordination as part of every job so you don’t have to chase it down yourself.
Yes. Our shop is in Somersworth and we serve the entire Dover area including Madbury, Rollinsford, Barrington, Durham, and Newmarket. Dover and the surrounding towns are our core service area.
That depends on your current panel capacity and what the remodel is adding. A kitchen remodel with new appliance circuits hits the panel differently than a bathroom addition. We assess your panel as part of the estimate so you know upfront if an upgrade is needed before work starts.
Yes. Loyal Lab Electric & Generators holds a New Hampshire and Maine Master Electrician license and carries full liability insurance and workers compensation coverage. We also pull all required permits and schedule inspections for every job that requires them.
We offer free estimates for larger projects like panel upgrades, generator installations, and EV charger setups. For service calls and troubleshooting, there is a service call fee but any work required beyond that will be quoted for free before any repairs begin
Yes and we prefer it. Coordinating directly with your general contractor keeps the schedule tight and avoids the communication gaps that cause delays. We are used to working around other trades and fitting into an existing project timeline.
very remodel is different and the electrical typically spans the entire project from demo through finish work. We are usually on site at multiple stages rather than one continuous stretch. During the estimate we map out the touchpoints with you and your contractor so everyone knows when to expect us and the schedule stays on track.
Yes. A lot of homes in Dover, Portsmouth, and Rochester were built before modern electrical codes and we are very familiar with what that means on a job site. Knob and tube wiring, undersized panels, and outdated outlets are common and we handle all of it.
The Rusty Fund is our charitable initiative supporting local dog rescues, including the Pope Memorial Humane Society in Dover. We donate $10 from every completed job and $100 from every generator installation. It is named after Rusty, the yellow lab who inspired everything Loyal Lab stands for.

Troy came right away and trouble shot our issue with a burned out kitchen light. It turned out to be a bigger job than expected but he remained pleasant and completed the job in a timely manner. I would definitely called them again if I need any electrical work done.Posted on Google![]()

I contacted Loyal Lab about doing all the wiring in my new (detached) garage. They responded very promptly to my initial request for a quote. I met with Clay, we went over the entire scope of the job, discussed many of the details, he took notes, returned to his office, and provided a quotation that same day. I thought the quoted price was reasonable and acceptable. (I did not get a second quote, but rather based my decision on previous discussions with two other electrical contractors.) Clay's estimate of when the job would start and the duration was much better than what I had heard from other contractors in the area. The job took about half a day longer than originally expected - that was not a problem and it was reasonable. The crew that performed the work showed up at a decent hour each day, worked a full day, cleaned up at the end of each day, and they conducted themselves professionally. The crew contacted me to quickly resolve a few questions during the installation. The installation went pretty smoothly. Electrical inspections went very well. The quality of work was very good, in my opinion. All in all, my experience with Loyal Lab was much better than any other contractors (electrical or other trades) on the construction of building my new garage. The quote was sufficiently detailed, the price was acceptable, the schedule was excellent, and the results were very good. I'm happy. Yes, I would recommend talking with them for your next electrical project. [Note that Loyal Lab did not install the "service" (meter or breaker box). That was done by another electrical contractor that I would not hire to do what Loyal Lab did.]Posted on Google![]()

I had several small electrical jobs that needed to be done. They were quick to respond to my initial request, came same day to issue a quote, and one week later completed the job. They know their job and I love the results.Posted on Google![]()

Definitely on the expensive side, but Troy and Ben were right on time, very friendly, and took care of our light switches/ceiling fans quickly. They were so sweet to our son who had lots of questions and they even left him some stickers!!Posted on Google![]()

What a difference going with a locally owned company. I had the Mr. Electric, Heritage, etc experience and wanted to find someone local who wasn't going to upsell, try to talk me into a service contract or try to rip me off. Troy was superb, arrived right on time and he was able to diagnose the issue in short order and made sure everything was working before leaving. The price was very reasonable and he even explained that all his work came with a one year warranty. Highly recommend and would definitely use them again.Posted on Google![]()

Justin and his partner(whose name I forgot, I apologize) were outstanding! They understood the work I was looking to have done, gave me a very reasonable quote, and were able to finish the project the same day. In addition, they willingly changed a very high up lightbulb in my garage for no extra charge. I will definitely be using their services in the future for any other electrical needs!Posted on Google![]()

Troy was exceptional today on his service call to my house. He walked me through everything as he worked, explaining what he was doing and why, giving me a real peace of mind - the insight was genuinely helpful for any future projects, as well. Quality work, clear communication and a friendly, patient approach throughout. I highly recommend Loyal Lab and we'll be calling them again for future project.
